More About Dr. Ferrigno

From Pre-Dental to Chiropractic: A Life-Changing Detour

Long before he became a trusted Chiropractor in Campbell, CA, Dr. Thomas Ferrigno was on a completely different path—preparing for a career in dentistry at the University of San Francisco. Then life threw him a curveball. A serious back injury changed everything. What began as a painful setback became a pivotal moment. After experiencing the benefits of chiropractic firsthand, Dr. Ferrigno found himself not just recovering—but rethinking his future.

That injury didn’t just heal his body. It redirected his purpose.

In the months that followed, Dr. Ferrigno immersed himself in learning everything he could about chiropractic care—not just as a patient, but as someone deeply curious about how the body heals without drugs or surgery. What struck him most wasn’t just the relief from pain, but the empowerment that came with understanding his own body. That spark grew into a calling, and before long, dentistry was in the rearview mirror. A new passion had taken the wheel.

A Deep Understanding of Pain—and Healing

What makes Dr. Ferrigno stand out isn’t just his decades of experience—it’s that he’s been in your shoes. Having endured two major disc injuries himself, he knows exactly how debilitating back pain can be. That personal journey is the foundation of his specialized work in treating complex spinal issues such as:

  • Herniated discs
  • Sciatica
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Failed back surgery syndrome
  • Facet joint syndrome

And he doesn’t stop at symptom relief. Dr. Ferrigno focuses on long-term recovery and improved quality of life.

With the integration of Spinal Decompression Therapy and the advanced DRX9000 system, he’s helped thousands of Bay Area patients avoid invasive surgery and escape the frustrating loop of temporary pain management.

One of California’s Leading Experts in Spinal Decompression

Dr. Ferrigno is proud to run one of the largest spinal decompression clinics in the Bay Area. With over 40,000 spinal decompression sessions performed, his clinic has become a hub for patients who once thought surgery was their only option.

He’s among only a few doctors in California who hold National Certifications in both Spinal Decompression Therapy and Peripheral Neuropathy.

As part of the Disc Centers of America, he adheres to strict treatment protocols developed by the International Medical Advisory Board on Spinal Decompression, where he also serves as a board member—recognized for clinical excellence in diagnosing and treating disc-related conditions.

A “Whole Person” Approach to Chiropractic Care

Dr. Ferrigno’s treatment philosophy goes beyond quick fixes. He believes in addressing the whole person—combining hands-on techniques with cutting-edge diagnostics and the latest non-invasive treatment options. His goal is always the same: to help patients accelerate their healing, reduce their pain, and live fuller, more active lives.

Whether you’re dealing with a chronic condition or a recent injury, you’re not just another case file—you’re a person with a story. Dr. Ferrigno listens, evaluates, and tailors your care accordingly.

Fun Facts:

A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Ferrigno is a lifelong fan of the Giants, 49ers, and the Warriors—so yes, sports talk is fair game during your visits. When he’s not in the office, you’ll find him golfing, lifting weights, or doing what he encourages his patients to do: staying active.

But these days, nothing beats time with his granddaughter, Neva. She’s the newest (and tiniest) light in his life.

What Patients Are Saying About Dr. Ferrigno

I came in to Dr. Ferrigno for lower back pain. It’s a problem that I have had for about 10 to 15 years.I tried everything from physiatrists, medical doctors, doctor of osteopathy, chiropractic, acupuncture, pain medications, epidural injections and everything was a temporary fix. I decided to try the DRX therapy and I’ve gone from an average pain level between 5/7 out of 10 all the way down to a pain level of 1 to 2 pretty consistently. The DRX was definitely the only thing that has made me feel better.

I suffer from severe and sometimes unbearable neck pain. I tried acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, and physical therapy with no significant improvement in my neck. After coming to Bay Area Disc Centers, and with Dr. Thomas Ferrigno’s non-surgical spinal decompression program, I finally achieved a significant reduction in pain.

Actual Patient
During the 1 ½ years of having constant daily lower back pain and spasms (on and off), I took anti-inflammatory and pain medication, but nothing helped lessen the pain. Physical therapy didn’t help. When an MRI showed that I had two degenerative discs, I went through a series of lumbar epidural injections. The first one helped a tiny bit, but the others didn’t do a thing for my pain. The only thing that made the pain and spasms go away was spinal decompression treatments at Bay Area Disc Centers. Four years later and I am still pain-free!

Five stars all the way! Can’t praise them enought, honestly! Everything's very bright and sunny. The entire staff is very friendly.

Dr. Ferrigno and Staff, My sincere thanks to all of you for restoring me to good health. When I came to you with numbness in my hand and arm and severe back pain, you assured me that there was hope. Not only did you make that happen, you also gave me back my energy and sense of well being. Dr. Ferrigno, and the entire staff have been warm and welcoming, without fail. I owe you much and “thank you” doesn’t begin to cover it! P.S. I only wish I had come to you sooner.

Prior to treatment at Bay Area Disc Centers, I was always tired from constant back pain. Since completing the DRX program, I feel like a new person. I am able to bend and walk pain-free. In fact, other people have asked me what I have done as my increased mobility has been noticed by people around me! Thank you Dr. Ferrigno and Bay Area Disc Centers!
